The Great Classroom Battle

Semester has just started and it seems that the war for the best classroom has already begun. Now, the situation is, there is only one classroom in the civil block that has an AC, a must in such a humid weather. And that has been allotted to us, Civil 3rd sem, as it is done every year, seeing that it is very big and can seat about 70 students. So far so good. But our very esteemed seniors (5th sem) had lost this opportunity last year, because their class strength is (only) 50, and thus they were sent to some small classroom on the third floor, in some corner of the academic block. Now, they want to sit in our class, their argument being that this is the last year when they’ll be attending classes, and we should let off our really cool classroom on the grounds of charity (whateva!). But my classmates don’t seem to agree (for the first time I’ve seen them showing some unity, I’m impressed!).

That was the scene, and now what we get to witness is a constant battle for the empty room (if it is empty), and who gets there first. Actually, we don’t really have to worry about the second part, because my class strength is much larger than theirs, and we get the better of them every time. But they haven’t yet given up. There have been some interesting confrontations, but I guess some people will not like me to go into the details. Let’s see who gets the AC: the mighty second years or the undersized-but-our-senior third years.

UPDATE: It seems we have reached an amicable understanding. We usually don't have our first lectures in that class, so they have it. And then they very meekly relinquish it, when we arrive for the second one. However, beneath the surface, it is very apparent, they are still fighting.........
